The U.S. Department of Justice seal bears a Latin phrase: "Qui Pro Domina Justitia Sequitur." The motto refers to the attorney general, "who prosecutes on behalf of Lady Justice." But under President Barack Obama's politically corrupt DOJ, Lady Justice is getting the shaft. Sotomayor and the Tyranny of EmpathyBy: Scott Wheeler Obama missed an opportunity to be presidential and instead chose to play gutter politics and show himself for the hack that he is. He could have nominated a qualified acceptable candidate for the Supreme Court, regardless of the person's race or gender, which would have had bipartisan support. But instead of rising above partisan politics and delivering the “change” he promised during the campaign, he called a play right out of the standard Democratic dirty-tricks playbook: the race hustle. The mainstream media did its part by reading directly from the Democratic talking points and repeatedly added the White House manufactured line, “how can Republicans oppose Sonia Sotomayor without alienating Hispanics?” What an awful insult to the Hispanic community to suggest that their interests are no deeper than the color of someone's skin. How sad it is that Obama would select someone whose judicial views are so antithetical to the constitution and then use that person's race to divide the country for his political benefit. So concerned is the Obama administration about a close examination of Sotomayor's judicial record, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs issued this warning: “I think it is probably important for anybody involved in this debate to be exceedingly careful with the way in which they've decided to describe different aspects of this impending confirmation,” signaling that any opposition to Sotomayor's nomination would be considered anti-Hispanic. Obama has said that “his judges” would have “that quality of empathy, of understanding and identifying with people's hopes and struggles.” And when Obama's corrupt associates run headlong into the rule of law he will make sure that they aren't inconvenienced, “I will seek someone who understands that justice isn't about some abstract legal theory.” So there you have it; to Obama, the law of the land is “an abstract legal theory” not to get in the way of his agenda. A chilling, January 2001 interview reveals what far-reaching consequences Obama-styled “empathy” can have for the rule of law and the U.S. Constitution. “The Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society,” Obama told an interviewer for a Chicago radio station. He went on to complain that when ultra-liberal, judicial activist Earl Warren was chief justice of the Supreme Court “it didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution.” He seems to really miss that the whole point of the Constitution was to prevent tyrants from “break[ing] free” from the rule of law and declaring themselves the final arbiters of what is legal. But, then again, maybe he doesn't miss that point at all. In the grand scheme of things, Sotomayor seems a perfect fit for Obama. She has already declared that her biases as a “Latina woman” are superior to her white male counterparts. To Obama and Sotomayor, the Constitution is only a temporary impediment to their “empathetic” nirvana. Everyone, especially Hispanics, should be outraged by this cynical use of race by the Obama administration. Obama has cleverly diffused outrage by doing so many outrageous things across a wide spectrum. Are there any elected Democrats expressing their displeasure with Obama's cynical use of race? Of course not, it's a game they have been playing for a long time. When you take the race baiting and class warfare away from Democrats, all that is left is raw anti-Americanism. June 18 A LETTER FROM A WOMAN IN ARIZONA TO OUR GOVERNMENT, I BELEIVE SHE SPEAKS FOR AT LEAST HALF THE COUNTRY. CHECK IT OUT FOR YOUR SELF.The following letter, read on Glenn Beck's show, is rapidly circulating around the country. Americans everywhere identify with this 53-year-old woman. She has given us a voice. Once you read this, you will want to forward it to all of your friends... GLENN BECK: I got a letter from a woman in Arizona. She writes an open letter to our nation's leadership: I'm a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now. You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would horribly feel so disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me? Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation: One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration. Two, the TARP bill, I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal. Three: Czars, I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it. Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say. Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down! Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don't you start there. Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate. Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why -- what do you have against shareholders making a profit? Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves. Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band-Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us. Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try -- please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me. Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now. Take a breath. Listen to the people. Let's just slow down and get some input from some nonpoliticians on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law. I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I'm busy. I'm busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave. I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent spending. From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington. Our president often knows all the right buzzword is unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we're morons. We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work , pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you. You have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us when he will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution. Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you. If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by one. We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because we are coming. We the people are coming. Signed THE AMERICAN PUBLIC MOVEON.ORG IS OBAMAS WEB OF LIES, THEY PROJECT THEIR AGENDA ON THE PUBLIC. IN THIS E-MAIL THEY ARE TRYING TO SHUT DOWN OUR POWER PLANTS WITHOUT REPLACEMENTS OR THE MONEY TO REBUILD & THEY WONT LET US DRILL OUR OWN OIL. WHERE DO THEY EXPECT US TO GET POWER?Dear MoveOn member, Congress is voting on the big energy bill next week. But the latest version of the energy bill would repeal a key part of the Clean Air Act1—arguably the most important environmental law in American history. Big coal companies want to revoke President Obama's authority to crack down on global warming pollution from their dirty power plants—and they're on the verge of winning. If they succeed, the oldest and dirtiest coal plants could keep destroying the climate for years to come. And this change could pave the way for 100 new coal plants, which would pollute our communities with smog, soot, mercury, and global warming pollution.2 The big vote is next week. Can you tell Congress not to repeal this Clean Air Act provision? Clicking here will add your name: The petition says: "Congress must not repeal the Clean Air Act provision that empowers President Obama to crack down on dirty coal plants." How did this happen? For years, George W. Bush refused to use the Clean Air Act to cut global warming pollution. But the Obama administration has taken the first steps toward changing that, so the coal industry is desperate to take away Obama's authority to limit global warming pollution. Now, coal lobbyists have forced a terrible provision into the new energy bill—which otherwise has some good parts—to give coal plants a pass. If the coal industry wins, Obama would be powerless to stop hundreds of old, dirty coal plants from spewing global warming pollution into our air. Some of the biggest climate polluters on the planet would be let off the hook. Even worse, the coal industry is trying to build at least 100 more dirty coal plants. For years, local environmental groups and the Sierra Club have blocked these plants.3 But if this Clean Air Act provision is eliminated, local groups may be unable to stop another generation of dependence on dirty coal. We got Congress's attention in the last two weeks with a powerful grassroots drive to fix this and other problems in the energy bill. We made thousands of phone calls, wrote letters to local newspapers, and delivered petition signatures in person to hundreds of congressional offices. But we're not there yet. The clock is ticking down to the big vote next week, and we need to protect the Clean Air Act. June 09 OPEN YOUR EYES & EARS, OBAMA DEMOCRATS ARE RUNNING THIS COUNTRY INTO THE POOR HOUSE & THEY ARE CROOKED AS CAN BE !
Dear Friend: ACORN must be stopped. Bill O’Reilly of Fox News has been at the forefront of exposing this political organization masquerading as an organization helping lower-income people. In the past month, when O'Reilly's show featured the Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) leader who brought the law suit against ACORN last year, The New York Times' "ombudsman" attacked her viciously. The RNLA has been uncovering and exposing the startling revelations about ACORN — about its fraudulent and illegal tactics for several months now. Clearly, The New York Times and other liberal media are deeply worried about our activities to expose ACORN. Why? ACORN has been working tirelessly, using taxpayer funds, to make a mockery of our electoral process. We believe many of these efforts are nothing but a sham nonpartisan voter registration effort — designed to create chaos in the system and result in fraudulent votes being counted. During the presidential election, we uncovered evidence that Barack Obama was directly aided by ACORN and its affiliates. But The New York Times killed a story close to the 2008 election that would have publicized information the RNLA uncovered showing that the Obama campaign and ACORN illegally coordinated efforts to fund a massive voter registration effort that was rife with fraud. Again, I remind you that this group is supposed to be nonpolitical and uses our money to fund its activities. But evidence emerged that during the heated Democratic primary, Citizens Services Inc., an affiliate of ACORN, was paid more than $800,000 by the Obama campaign for its efforts to get out the vote. Now, Obama’s stimulus has set aside as much as $4 billion — yes $4 billion — for groups like ACORN. And even more troublesome is that ACORN is using shell organizations to hide its activities from public scrutiny. Recently, Fox News discovered that ACORN has more than 250 nonprofit groups that use ACORN's New Orleans headquarters as their home address. Meanwhile the FBI is investigating ACORN. But we know that the Obama White House influences the Justice Department. That’s why legal action by the RNLA and congressional hearings are so critical for fair elections in this country. Powerful Democrats like the House Judiciary Committee's John Conyers and Barney Frank initially agreed to review ACORN's activities. But they flip-flopped. Still, some Republicans are fighting back. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), citing evidence uncovered by the RNLA, offered an amendment to a congressional funding bill that would have prevented ACORN from receiving federal housing funding. And Congressman Steve King (R-IA), a member of the Judiciary Committee, says that Congress must hold hearings on ACORN. King says this group has never had its federal funding reviewed, and he wants it done now. "This spider web, this myriad web of ACORN dollars and revenue streams, every bit of it should be looked at,” Congresssman King says. “All the corporations that they are networked with, all of the boards of directors of those corporations, the interlocking, connecting, the faces that are the same from board to board." Scary that the federal government would fork over billions of dollars — and demand no accountability, no review, no examination — to such a mysterious group. We at RNLA are spearheading the effort to expose ACORN and demand that taxpayer funds are not used for partisan political purposes. We also want groups like ACORN that receive federal funds to explain their activities to Congress and the American people. We need your help. We have ACORN and their liberal defenders on the run but we need to keep the pressure on. As you may know, the Republican National Lawyers Association is the leading legal group fighting for clean and fair elections. Our work has been cited by leading media outlets and recognized across the country. The Wall Street Journal stated that our work during the 2004 election prevented John Kerry from becoming president! Today we have never faced a challenge like the one we do now. President Barack Obama was clearly elected with the help of shenanigans from ACORN. Now he wants to make ACORN more powerful and lock the Republicans out of power in key swing states. If his intentions are honest, why does President Obama and the Democrats keep using a group that has been charged and convicted of voter registration fraud in so many states, including new charges in Nevada and Pennsylvania in the last month? We need your help to stop ACORN, and to ensure that at a minimum, ACORN does not receive public funds for its corrupt political mission. We need your help now to stop ACORN and continue our fight to bring out the truth. Help RNLA continue this fight by donating. Donate here now.
